The Butterflies were thrilled to be named 2012 Melbourne Design Awards finalists in the Digital Experience – Mobile category for our Aesop Mobile design.
With 550 total entries, we were over the moon when we were named as a finalist alongside three other design heavyweights in our category. Although we didn’t take home the big prize on the night, it was a real pat on the back to the whole team, with a nod and a wink in the direction of the designers.
The objective of our Aesop mobile design was to deliver all aspects of the desktop site on mobile devices and simultaneously accommodate the company aesthetic and experience. The design of the site was driven by Aesop’s need to leverage their branding across a new platform. Execution of this concept was completed with the utmost integrity, whilst ensuring that the functionality was not compromised.
By creating a fully mobile-compatible template, Butterfly built a mobile site that allowed customers to have exactly the same options that they would on the desktop site. This included functionality such as store listings and a complete online shopping experience.
